Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend

The festival season begins in right earnest in India this Friday with Navratri (literally 9 nights celebrating the female principles of nature and divinity representing them). It is a joyous time with much singing and dancing replete with seasonal beauty and fashion trends. I shall be reviewing some of these over the next few days. Today's fashion news is diamonds.



Women in the Western state of Gujarat are all set to dazzle garba (social dancing)dance venues with nothing less than diamond-studded smiles! Young women are getting a cosmetic ‘dental diamond procedure’ to get diamonds embedded in their teeth. During this procedure, the teeth are adorned with a non-toxic diamond at the cost of Rs 2500, equivalent to around ?? $.

Customers can choose between two kinds of diamonds, one with bluish glint and another with a whitish glaze. The procedure takes 45 minutes, and as the diamonds used are medicated, they will last a lifetime. And yes! they can be removed at a later date.
